The research addresses the issue of intolerance and religion-based conflicts that contradict Pancasila's values. The study aims to analyze how the Kenduri tradition contributes to the implementation of Pancasila values in community life. The research employs a qualitative method with a realist ethnographic approach. Data were collected through direct observations of the Kenduri tradition and virtual interviews with residents. Secondary data were sourced from relevant literature. The analysis connects field findings with theories of interreligious engagement (Izak Lattu), social solidarity (Emile Durkheim), and religiosity (John Titaley). The findings reveal that the Kenduri tradition reflects Pancasila values, including divinity through interfaith collective prayers, humanity through equality and empathy, unity through interfaith cooperation, democracy through deliberation, and justice through equitable roles and benefits. This tradition strengthens mechanical solidarity through shared occupations and organic solidarity through the division of labour. In conclusion, the Kenduri tradition effectively enhances interfaith community solidarity in the foothills of Mount Slamet, supporting Pancasila's goal of fostering harmony. The study recommends preserving local traditions as a means to build solidarity within multicultural communities.
2024-12-13T06:06:14+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Risma Ananda Nugeraheni, Izak Y.M Lattu, Suwarto Suwarto, Tony Tampake https://jurnal.sttstarslub.ac.id/index.php/js/article/view/524RELIGIOUS MODERATION AND DIGITAL LITERACY2025-02-23T03:10:46+00:00Derry Ahmad Rizalderry.rizal@uin-suka.ac.idNurul Khorina Seci Vellakhorinahana@gmail.com
This study focuses on digital literacy as an approach to critically analyzing media content, with particular attention to information that promotes the values of religious moderation. In Christianity, death is viewed as the final separation of the body and soul. In contrast, in the beliefs of the Saluan community, the soul undergoes a transitional phase known as the Periode Ton. This study aims to analyze the similarities and differences in the concepts of death and the existence of the soul after death in both belief systems. The research employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach. Data were collected from various sources, including books, scholarly journal articles, and previous research findings. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that while there are similarities in understanding death as the separation of body and soul, significant differences exist in the existence and influence of the soul after death. In the beliefs of the Saluan community, the soul remains in the physical world until the Mohatu ritual is performed. In contrast, Christianity asserts that the soul immediately enters the presence of God or is separated from Him. In conclusion, this study contributes to contextual theology by integrating cross-cultural understanding.
2024-12-21T08:19:29+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Jhon Efrendi Bungalan, Tony Salurantehttps://jurnal.sttstarslub.ac.id/index.php/js/article/view/532EVOLUTION OF CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHING METHODS2025-02-23T03:09:38+00:00Dewi Yulianadewikhenza03@gmail.comRezeki Putra Gulorezekiputra05@gmail.com
This study examines the evolution of teaching methods in Christian Religious Education within the digital era, marked by technological advancements. The object of the research is the text of Genesis 14:17-24, analyzed to uncover its relevance to efforts in maintaining plurality in Indonesia. The research aims to highlight sympathetic narratives toward plurality in the Old Testament and how they can be applied in societal life. This study employs a qualitative method with narrative criticism and historical criticism approaches. Narrative criticism analyzes the structure and dynamics of the narrative, such as characters, symbols, and conflicts within the text. Meanwhile, historical criticism is used to understand the socio-historical context of the Israelites, including their interactions with the cultures and religions in Canaan. Data were collected from textual analysis of the Bible and literature on plurality in Indonesia, which were then analyzed interpretatively. The findings reveal that Abraham demonstrated a sympathetic and accommodative attitude toward plurality, such as receiving blessings from Melchizedek, using the name El Elyon, and refraining from confrontational behaviour toward Canaanite local culture. These attitudes reflect values of tolerance and moderation in diversity. In conclusion, this narrative is relevant to addressing the challenges of intolerance in Indonesia and inspires churches and society to promote harmony amidst plurality.
2024-12-23T15:21:58+00:00Copyright (c) 2024 Surianti Tundu
